Day 24: Monterey Bay Aquarium,
camping Pfeiffer Big Sur SP, CA

Wednesday, October 4, 2000

Before leaving Samuel P. Taylor SP we called the airline to confirm our flight back. A distinct sign we would be leaving soon.. only a few more days left. We drove along the coast down to Monterey, where we visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We loved it, especially the sea otters, but also petting sea cucumbers and other strange creatures. We spent a few hours there and went on to the Big Sur area, where we ended up at Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park at about 6:30 PM. The scenery along the way was really beautiful. I personally would like to go back sometime to see more of it. I took a couple of pictures but unfortunately what you see here doesn't quite picture it the way I wanted.. Oh well, all the more reason to go back!
We drove 189 miles today.
